What is an electroformed nickel logo?

An electroformed nickel logo is a thin metal logo grown rather than cut: nickel is built up layer by layer on a patterned master, then released as a single piece. That is why it can be ultra-thin — HSINHO produces them at about 0.05–0.1 mm — while keeping sharp, raised detail. They are used on premium electronics, cosmetics and luxury packaging.

How it is made, in four steps

  1. Artwork to master. The logo artwork is turned into a patterned master that defines every line and gap.
  2. Electroforming. Nickel is deposited onto the master in a controlled electrochemical bath until it reaches the target thickness.
  3. Release and finishing. The nickel part is separated from the master and finished — for example plated, polished or given a matte or colored surface.
  4. Backing and supply. An adhesive backing is added and small logos are supplied on carrier film so they can be placed accurately on the assembly line.

HSINHO, founded in Dongguan in 1998, produces electroformed nickel logos under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IECQ QC080000 management systems. Not sure it is the right choice? Compare all three options in the logo material guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How thin is an electroformed nickel logo?
HSINHO produces electroformed nickel logos at about 0.05–0.1 mm while keeping sharp raised detail.
Why choose electroforming over stamping?
Electroforming grows the part on a master, so it can reproduce very fine lines and separate letters at a thickness stamping cannot reach. Stamping suits thicker plates that are handled often.
How are small nickel logos attached?
They are supplied with an adhesive backing, often on carrier film, so they can be placed accurately during assembly.
Where are electroformed nickel logos used?
On premium consumer electronics, cameras and accessories, cosmetics and luxury packaging — anywhere a thin, detailed metal logo is needed.
